About Our Sector Expertise

Nick Goss is an established subject matter expert in railway accessibility and PRM (People with Restricted Mobility) management.

He has a proven track record in working with Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, and Legislative (DfT) and Rail Regulatory (ORR/RSSB) Bodies. With extensive Board Level experience, Nick has project managed TOC wide and nationwide initiatives to enhance and embed accessibility into the business of transport.

Nick is a full time wheelchair user and brings with him personal experience, professionally applied. Nick is Chair of the London Midland Access Advisory Panel and a founding member of the Network Rail Built Environment Access Panel.

Matthew Smith has over 20 years' experience in public transport, and since 2003 has specialized in accessibility issues. He is a former train operating company Accessibility Manager - where he was responsible for developing improvements, stakeholder liaison, and the management of compliance issues. Matthew has been lead accessibility advisor for ten rail franchise bid teams. He has carried out station accessibility audits of over 500 stations in Britain, using these to develop improvements to physical features and policies. Matthew's experience includes: development of policy, franchise bid work, training, research, auditing, and development of station accessibility improvements.

Chris Mepham is an experienced Transport Professional with over 17 years’ experience in the Rail Sector. An accomplished Stakeholder and Contract Manager, he has in the past held the responsibility of being Head of Access and Disability for both GNER and London Midland train companies.

Chris has previously sat on the Industry Steering Group (ATOC) responsible for Disability and Access matters and has spoken at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Disability Transport on behalf of the UK. He has also been responsible for setting up a number of special interest stakeholder/industry advisory groups within the Industry.

He has worked and contracted extensively on both the commercial and government sides of the industry as a Contract and Project Manager; he is a Director of two companies specialising in Interim Management and Industry Consultancy Services respectively.

During his career, Chris has also worked in the 3rd sector for both Barnardo’s and Remploy, in Disability Employment and Training fields.
