Goss Consultancy Ltd announces major role in TOC Ability

TOC Ability is a digital platform concept that could connect train operator and service provider systems, and bring real improvements to train journeys for disabled customers. Due to begin in March 2017, the project will facilitate the sharing of disabled customers' travel requirements with train operating companies, bus and taxi firms, food and beverage retailers and even chemists. This will be done through an 'intelligent accessibility hub', which exchanges real-time information between disabled customers and organisations in order to provide tailored journey requirements. TOC Ability protects personally identifiable information (PII) by through a unique consent management system, which can be integrated within train operators' booking, mobile app and customer relationship management systems.

The project will run for 20 months and is co-funded by the Rail Safety Standard Board (RSSB). The consortium is a collection of 7 organisations, each playing different delivery roles in order to scope, develop and pilot the TOC Ability platform in a live train station environment. The solution will be tested with a focus group of disabled customers with accessibility needs. The project, valued at c. £1.4m, will be delivered through the collaboration of TfL and Arriva UK Trains, joint TOC Sponsors, Atkins, Project Management and Business Intelligence Lead, Goss Consultancy, Access / Inclusion Specialist and Disabled Stakeholder Steering Group Lead, Loughborough University, Customer Experience Expertise, Surrey University, Cyber Security Experts and Enable iD, Systems Design Specialist.
