Understanding and managing mental health issues effectively in frontline service provision

20% of women and 14 % of men in England currently have some form of mental illness, and across the UK as a whole 1 in 4 of us will experience some kind of mental health problem over the course of the next year. For those working with the public, being able to engage effectively with people with mental health issues is, therefore, vital to providing a quality service.

This one day course provides an overview of mental illness and its implications for both the individuals affected and for service providers. It explores the roles and responsibilities of agencies involved in mental health and helps delegates to understand how they can provide appropriate support to those with mental health problems.
